My review ☆☆☆☆☆

“Fiction is magical. Reality is painful”

This is, without a doubt, the most beautiful, heartbreaking, touching book I’ve ever read. I struggle to write a review when I am so emotionally involved. As you know, I am French and this book made me feel so so much that I can’t find the words to do it justice. This book was P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N
I won’t say much more, I won’t go into detail so not to spoil others who haven’t experienced this tale, but suffice to say I’ll never forget Dean and Rosie: their humour, their strength, their courage, their EPIC LOVE. I love them as people. They feel absolutely real to me.
“Ruckus’ Cole was a different kind of asshole to Baron ‘Vicious’ Spencer. He fucked you over with a polite smile on his face.”
L.J Shen has the power to do that to us. I’m not going to review how stunning L.J Shen can write, or how she has the gift and ability to create characters as special as Dean and Rosie, Earth and Sirius, or how amazingly she can tell a story.

You know that I like to add quotes to my review but there I am at an impasse. Why? Because Ruckus is the kind that, if you were the kind of person to highlight books, would have you buying at minimum two highlighters because the mark would become streaky and not highlighter-y enough and so you’d have to use a new one.
“the more she hated me, the more I wanted to prove to her that it was always us. That if I believed in that bullshit of two people who were meant to be with each other—it was because we actually were.”
L.J Shen has done an amazing job of making these characters feel so real to me. When they cried, I cried and cried and cried. When they laughed, I laughed. When they melted, I melted. Their romance was so epic.
The level of emotions conveyed in each chapter just took my breath away over and over again. She has a gift for bringing everything to life with her words and can write even the simplest scene in such a way that the words just sink right into your heart.

Everything in this book: the characters, the story, the words, they all have the power to be an inspiration. If you haven’t read it, I suggest to take the chance.
There are not enough stars in the sky to rate this book. There are not enough ways to express how much I loved it. It’s simply beautiful.

“What makes you feel alive? Love. When it is fierce and deprived. Raw and delicious. But it also reminds me that one day—soon—it will all end for me.”

“This series is one of the best I’ve read all year”Angie, Angie’s Dreamy Reads

“LJ Shen delivers and then some. I am loving this series.”Kylie Scott New York Times Bestseller

“It’s unpredictable, raw, emotional, and edgy- pure chaos contained in a beautiful package.”TJ Loves Books

“LJ Shen just wrote her best love story ever!” DD’s Boom Room

They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They’re right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister’s ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzed into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn’t too late.

They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They’re right.
She sets my mind on fire.
All smart mouth, snarky attitude and a huge heart.
In a world where everything is dull, she shines like fucking Sirius.
Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.
This time, I fucking dare it to try.
Getting to her is a battlefield, but man, that’s why they call me Ruckus.
Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out how hard I can fight.
And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.
L.J. Shen resides in sunny California with her husband, son, chubby cat and wild, wild dreams. Her passion is to write badass stories, sushi, UFC and her awesome family and friends (not in this order, though. Obviously, sushi comes before writing. Oh, and also the family part.)
