I loved Braden and Nik’s story. I didn’t think these two authors together could get any funnier, boy was I wrong! The humour is similar to that in Cleat Chaser, so for those of you who are faint of heart-you have been warned.

What I enjoyed about this book was that it wasn’t so much about the chase but about what you do to keep the girl you love.

I feel this is a very under-represented subgenre and Aaron and Howell manage to approach it with humour without detracting from the main story.

We follow Braden and Nikki through the ups and downs that are normal to their lives. While what they go through given their jobs isn’t necessarily something we can all directly relate to, the emotions and resilutions are all soemthing we have experienced at some point in our lives.

I would really love to have a third book in this series, where we can go back and get to see where are two favourite couples are, and hopefully get to see more of Easton’s sister. Could a F/F book be on the cards?

Playmaker by Katie McCoy is live!

4 it’s football not soccer 🍀s

I’m a sucker for a good sports romance and Playmaker delivers on all fronts.

Nicole and James are both confirmed singletons who prefer to keep their “dates” to one night only with no repeats. However they both find that one night only might not be enough to get their fill of each other.

I really enjoyed this book, and found myself smiling and laughing along with the characters. James and Nicole are both likeable and realistic main characters who make no excuses for they like to live their lives.

Some of the scenes in this book were seriously H-O-T and I can understand wanting to go back for more. Hell, I nearly reread a couple of scenes they were that smoking’.

But all of these sexy times didn’t take away from what was an enjoyable love story. McCoy has created a separate world where all the secondary characters are credible and add something to the storyline. They’re not just there for filling or to add a little meat to the story.

I will definitely be picking up another Katie McCoy book.

5🍀 Review Get Lucky by Lila Monroe

Get Lucky by Lila Monroe
I seriously don’t know where to start with this. I enjoyed this book so much.

I’m not one for books where every other chapter flits back and forth through the past and present. But when you’re presented with a sexy romance with a The Hangover twist a bit of time travel is necessary.
I loved the character of Julia in this. It’s refreshing to read a female character who accepts her own quirks and geekiness but is still presented as relatable. There are constant Dr Who, Sherlock and a plethora of other geek-chic references throughout, Julia is a girl after my own heart.

This book presented so many trope situations that I was really concerned. There was a lot of “Oh God, no, seriously, how? Why?” And within a paragraph I realised Monroe had flipped it on its head and I was laughing. Monroe put her own unique spin on every situation so you genuinely didn’t know what was going to happen next, because nothing was as it seemed.

Nate is the consummate asshole. But what I liked was the fact that he came to conclusions about himself in this book organically. There were no contrived come to Jesus moments. It was much more realistic because we followed his thought process through the alternating PoV chapters.

All in all I adored this book. It was a light, happy, fun read that managed to stay fresh and enjoyable avoiding obvious clichés.

Lila Monroe has become the newest addition to my 1-click list.

I hadn’t actually read the start of this series, so I was able to sit down with this complete box set and start from the beginning.

There are almost two halves to this book. The first is where we meet Joel, the dirty, dirty tech guy, who will have women everywhere begging for their husbands to talk nerdy to them. We see how he isn’t really a bad guy, but he has a gift for seducing and pleasing women and he uses this gift to its full effect.

We are graced with some very hot, and I mean H-O-T scenes, which leave us in no doubt about Joel’s ability to deliver on his sexual promises.

The second half really displays Howell’s writing ability as we Joel put in different circumstances in which he must decide how he plans to continue living his life.

I was expecting sexy as hell scenes, and Howell delivered. However I was not expecting to be hit right in the feels at the same time.

AP new - synopsis.jpg

I love women. I’m not ashamed to admit that making a beautiful woman come is my main goal in life—one that I accomplish night after night. Women are as drawn to me as I am to them. I don’t get turned down. It’s not a brag, just a fact. At least it was a fact. Until I met Quinn—the one woman who didn’t fall for my easy charm. Now, I have to have her. She may not want to get close, may not want to admit that I turn her on and can give her a night that she’ll never forget, but she was mine the first moment I saw her. Eventually, I’ll have her beneath me, my hands in her hair, and my name on her lips. It’s what I do. I’m the Panty Whisperer.
