I read Neal’s Senses series long before I started my blog and really enjoyed it; so I wasn’t overly surprised that I really enjoyed Freeform.

Neal’s writing style is unique and it’s one that I enjoy. Freeform introduces us to June and Tucker, they are both very different characters but they work well together. The characters have been described in a well rounded way and I found the narrative well-paced and easy to follow.

For the most part Tuck was an enjoyable character and I think most people would be able to connect and empathise with June. There were a number of points in the story that were emotional and I did get the all the feels.

I love the fact that this took would could have been a cliché set up and yet Neal’s characters and narrative was different and at time humorous.

A very enjoyable read.

freeform Blog Tour

For June Bailey, life is all about meeting outlandish requests for her billionaire boss which includes keeping an eye on the woman’s artsy, nomad nephew, Tucker Frost. June highly underestimates how difficult spending time with Tucker will be. Between his good looks, irresistible charm, and a way of helping her see the beauty beyond her check-list life style, she begins to lose herself in more than just his artwork. However, when the time comes for the wanderer to drift away once more, will their love be forced to comply with traditional goodbyes or will it be allowed to exist in freeform?

This was my first Libby Cole novel and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. Although this book is part of an on-going series it can be read as a standalone.

I really enjoyed Tess and Damian’s relationship because it seemed genuine. There were many instances where I found their dialogue organic and realistic.

Damian begins working at the same firm as Tess and sparks begin to fly straight away but they’re not the sort of sparks we would be hoping for.

I don’t want to give too much away but through external circumstances they find themselves having to go against their better nature and spend a lot more time together. That’s when we start to see if the sparks of aggression are closely related to sparks of passion.

There were a few subsidiary characters in this book and have to say all of them were well developed. I didn’t get the sense that any of them were there for the sake of a plot point. I would love for this book to have longer purely because I enjoyed them and their verbal sparring so much. This is definitely a new author to add to your reading collection. I’ll be going back to the first three books in this series and reading them soon.

I loved Braden and Nik’s story. I didn’t think these two authors together could get any funnier, boy was I wrong! The humour is similar to that in Cleat Chaser, so for those of you who are faint of heart-you have been warned.

What I enjoyed about this book was that it wasn’t so much about the chase but about what you do to keep the girl you love.

I feel this is a very under-represented subgenre and Aaron and Howell manage to approach it with humour without detracting from the main story.

We follow Braden and Nikki through the ups and downs that are normal to their lives. While what they go through given their jobs isn’t necessarily something we can all directly relate to, the emotions and resilutions are all soemthing we have experienced at some point in our lives.

I would really love to have a third book in this series, where we can go back and get to see where are two favourite couples are, and hopefully get to see more of Easton’s sister. Could a F/F book be on the cards?

🌟🌟🌟Last Kiss by Laurelin Paige🌟🌟🌟

🌟🌟🌟Last Kiss by Laurelin Paige🌟🌟🌟

I think this book needs to come with a health warning it’s that hot!

I will admit that I did deliberately wait until Last Kiss came out before I read First Touch because I know how vicious Laurelin Paige’s cliffhangers can be.

This book is not a standalone and picks up right where we left our jaw hanging and chanting WTF at the end of First Touch.

Some of the bombs dropped at the end of First Touch are dealt with right away, others are left to simmer until we feel the need to throw our kindle at the nearest wall.

The book continues on with the fast pace from First Touch with more twists, turns and red herrings. We’re left guessing and wondering what on Earth is going on until the very end. Paige runs us through a whole gambit of emotions which leaves us feeling breathless both from the mystery and from some of the sex scenes. Reeve doesn’t lose his touch, ever.

I really enjoyed to getting to see more Reeve the man in the second half of this duet. Whilst the dark, mysterious Reeve from First Touch was enigmatic, I found myself rooting for, understanding and loving the deeper emotive Reeve in Last Kiss.

Whether you’re already a Laurelin Paige fan or this is her first work for you, you won’t be disappointed.

This was the debut novel from TJ Spade and I have to say I was not disappointed. I have read some suspense novels from established authors that wasn’t as gripping as this.

The premise of the story is very interesting-Caleb is a psychic and through his ability he assists Jack and the homicide team in tracking down murders.

The entire book kept up a quick pace throughout. Though it was the perfect pace to keep me enthralled without feeling like I was being left behind. I inhaled this book in a few hours, once I was in its grip I couldn’t put it down.

We were let guessing, doubting and waiting with bated breath; which isn’t something I can say for many suspense novels, never mind a debut.

The next book comes out in a few days and I cannot wait to see what gets thrown at this team next.

Add a new author to your kindle and 1-click Take You Apart today, and add Take You to Hell to you TBR. You won’t regret it.

This was my first Lexi Blake book and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. Although technically this book is part of a series it can easily be read as a standalone.

What I really liked, and seems to be a thread in the series, is that the main character Mia was no wall flower. She was badass and proud of it. She knew what she needed to do and did it. So many books now have the female running away when their feelings are hurt or turning their back on their goals and beliefs that it was a refreshing change to not see that with this book.

The BDSM element wasn’t the be all and end all of this book. There was intricate storyline which sucked me in so throughly that I’d hoping for the time to go back and read the rest of the series. Any questions that may have been raised by not reading the earlier books were fully covered from the beginning.

I loved Mia and Case’s relationship because even with the less than ordinary circumstances their relationship battles and strengths were normal. I found myself relating to the intrinsic ideas behind their arguments and discussions.

The action behind the story was really engaging and I found myself engrossed in some of the scenes waiting with bated breath to see what could possibly happen next. It was thrilling and enjoyable ride.

Holy hot alphas!! Now, if you’ve followed my blog you know I don’t do weak female leads. Well that makes Ruth Clampett my new best friend. Trisha is possibly one of the strongest female characters I’ve come across, physically and mentally.

The thing with having a strong female lead is that it takes an equally strong man to match her. Joe fulfils the criteria for this perfectly.

I’ll admit this was the first Ruth Clampett book I’d read, and I’ve gotta say, I was not disappointed. The sex scenes were H-O-T, if I wasn’t already married I’d be stalking fire stations after reading this one.

I loved, loved, loved Joe, if anything I wish this book was longer so I could’ve spent more time with these characters. I really feel like this could be made into a duet of books because they cover so many feeling and scenarios in this book, I want more.

I really wasn’t expecting this book to hit me so hard in the feels, I’m not ashamed to admits there were times I cried, times I laughed outright and a couple of times I wanted to stomp on my kindle. To me that is the sign of a good storyteller, I was immersed in the narrative to the point I was holding my breath during certain scenes.

Seriously, and truly, go buy this book-you won’t be disappointed.

5🍀 Review Anne Mercier

5🍀 Review Anne Mercier
The Way With You is the second in the The Way series. If you haven’t read The Way Back to Me you can rectify that here: Amazon US Amazon UK  Both books are also available through Kindle Unlimited. This post is a day late because I had the amazing opportunity to meet Anne at FBBF yesterday and she was just awesome!
YA/NA/Coming of Age books can be a bit trying these days. It’s difficult to come up with new storylines or twist old ones in a new and interesting way. Anne Mercier is one of the few of these authors who I will automatically one click.
This book could be read as a standalone as Mercier covers the important parts of the backstory within the narrative. However you are depriving yourself of an amazing read in the first book.
We pick up where the first book left off but very quickly we start to see how Livvy, Sebastian, Cameron and Alexia’s personalities have developed. Especially Livvy, which is really important, to me her journey is the crux of the story-not just the romance.
I found myself guessing and double guessing what was going on and what I wanted to happen. There were a couple of “kindle is about to meet wall” moments-as only Mercier can do. But at the same time the story of the heart that unfolded through this book was emotional and enjoyable. My only complaint is that it wasn’t long enough. I could’ve kept reading, and reading, and reading about these characters.
I only hope there are more to come in this series as I really want to revisit them and see where they are.
